A Venezuelan President (1847 to 1851 / 1855 to 1858
/ 1868: Died) and a Hero
of the Independence movement against the Spaniards. Jose Tadeo Monagas also was mason (Grade 33). He was always
loyal to Liberator Simon Bolivar. He fought General Jose Antonio Paez to keep the Grand Colombia together (which was
Simon Bolivar’s dream country; it was formed by two nations: Republic of Colombia
and Republic of Venezuela).

As his older brother, a Venezuelan President
(1851 to 1855) and a Hero of the Independence movement against the Spaniards. Jose
Gregorio Monagas was mason (Grade 33), too. He abolished slavery in Venezuela (just as President Lincoln did in the U.S.A.).

Francisco de Miranda participated in three of
the most important events of contemporary world history: the independence of the United States of America, the French Revolution,
and the Hispano-American Independence. He was the first man who conceived the idea of a “unique big nation” of
“free men” in Hispano-America, which he named “Colombia” or “Colombeia” and its capital
city would be located in Panama. He designed the Venezuela Flag in 1806. He was the first true universal Venezuelan, the father
of the Hispano-American Independence, and the most cultivated man of his time in Venezuela. He was the father founder of masonry
in Latin America.

Antonio Jose de Sucre served in the troops of
Francisco de Miranda. He was the top leader of “Campaign of the South”, to Quito, Ecuador. He led the patriots
and defeated the Spaniards in the Battle of Ayacucho and for that reason Peru awarded him the title of “Grand Marshall
of Ayacucho, and also was named “General Liberator of Peru”. He was elected President for life in Bolivia. He
was a top graduation mason. He was a better man than Simon Bolivar, and together with Miranda my favorite Independence Hero.

Jose Antonio Anzoategui was the General in
charge of the Honor Guard of Liberator Simon Bolivar. He was a young official in the Venezuelan army. He tried to help Francisco
de Miranda and his troops during the time he was the military commander of Barcelona, but he could not.
